MANILA, Philippines — Actor Jerome Ponce is mourning the death of his youngest brother, Jesus "Omboy" Porciuncula, whose passing was announced by their family over the weekend.
Ponce took to Instagram on June 14 to honor his late brother, posting a series of photographs that included childhood memories and family moments.
He wrote in the caption, “Boy.. mahal kita sobra, maaabot ko rin rank mo.. hintay lang. GGWP. (Boy, I love you so much. I'll reach your rank too someday... just wait. GGWP (Good Game, Well Played.)”
The tribute quickly drew messages of sympathy and support from friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Among those who left messages of condolence were Jason Abalos, Eula Valdez, Eric “Eruption” Tai, Marlo Mortel, Jed Madela, Eian Rances, Aubrey Caraan, Teejay Marquez and Chino “Tita Krissy Achino” Liu.
Earlier this week, Ponce's mother, Gema, announced the death of her son through a Facebook post.
“It is with great sadness that we share that my beloved son, Jesus Omboy, is now with our Heavenly Father. We know that many of you were part of his life and shared memories, laughter, and friendship with through the years. As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, we ask that you keep him and our family in your thoughts and prayers,” she wrote.
The family did not disclose the cause of death.
