International powerhouse vocalist Jessica Sanchez has released “Stronger Than Before,” a duet with “Asia’s Phoenix” Morissette that focuses on themes of resilience, faith and personal development.
Written by Sanchez and Rodney Jason and released through Universal Records, the track is now available on major streaming platforms. It was released in May, coinciding with Mother’s Day celebrations, a timing the release notes adds context to its themes of strength and sacrifice.
The song follows a narrative of overcoming setbacks and rebuilding confidence.
Sanchez said the track draws from her personal and professional experiences, including her path through various competitions before winning “America’s Got Talent” in 2025.
“Stronger Than Before is such a special song to me because it really reflects so much of my personal journey — both in my career and in my life,” Sanchez said. “This song is about resilience, growth and finding strength through those difficult moments. I wanted it to be an anthem for anyone who has ever felt knocked down but chose to rise again.”
The collaboration was recorded in Texas, where Morissette traveled from the Philippines to work with Sanchez in her home studio.
Sanchez said she had long admired Morissette’s work. “I’ve admired Morissette for so long — not just because of her powerhouse vocals, but because of the passion, emotion and strength she brings to everything she does. Collaborating with her has been a dream, and I’m so grateful we got to create this together,” she said.
“One of my favorite parts was hearing how beautifully our voices blended. It felt so natural and powerful. There were definitely moments in the studio where we both just looked at each other like, ‘Wow, this is something really special,’” Sanchez added.
The song will be performed live at Sanchez’s concert at the Araneta Coliseum on May 16, where Morissette is set to appear as a special guest, along with Darren Espanto, James Reid, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez. The performance will include the live debut of “Stronger Than Before.”
