KOTA KINABALU: Jetama Sdn Bhd is intensifying efforts to improve clean water access in Sabah through strategic projects, including increased water production and renewable energy ventures.

Chairman Datuk Yussof Abd Manan said the GLC prioritises water supply development in high-demand West Coast areas and has begun exploring power sector opportunities.

He said Jetama’s solar energy facility is already operational in Labuan, with Sabah’s first floating solar project soon to begin at Babagon Dam in Penampang.

Jetama is also introducing seawater desalination for industrial use in Lahad Datu and rolling out solar-powered groundwater pumping systems in 10 remote locations, including Pulau Banggi.

At its Open House, officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Jetama donated RM500,000 to the Sabah Welfare Foundation and RM10,000 each to six orphanages.
