SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Immigration Department detained 11 foreign women during a raid on several massage parlours in Bukit Rimau last night.
The operation, codenamed Op Gegar, involved 37 enforcement officers and targeted premises suspected of offering illegal services.
Department director Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin said the women, aged between 18 and 47, are suspected of working without valid documents.
Their nationalities include four from Thailand, four from Myanmar, two from China, and one from Vietnam.
“Among the offences detected were failure to possess valid identification documents, overstaying and misuse of passes or permits,” he said in a statement.
All cases are being investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/1963.
The detainees have been taken to the Semenyih Immigration Depot for remand and further investigation.
Khairrul Aminus added that the department will continue to intensify enforcement operations.
The goal is to curb illegal immigration activities and ensure compliance with immigration laws.
