JKR App Now Updates Road Conditions Affected By Natural Disasters

image is not availableAccording to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the public are now able to quickly identify which roads are impacted by natural disasters during the northeast monsoon season by using the Public Works Department's (JKR) eBencana app. The minister stated that the mobile app now incorporates monitoring data from JKR's disaster management center (BiGBen), which functions as a one-stop information hub for disasters involving state and federal roads under JKR Malaysia. image is not availableIt tracks events linked to disasters, including floods, landslides, road collapses, road subsidence, and damaged or collapsed bridges. According to Alexander, the monitoring frequency rises with the severity of the situation and is divided into three categories: green, yellow, and red. "If the situation is still green, meaning incidents occurred but are not severe. Monitoring will take place from 8am to 5pm, with reports twice a day.

"However, if conditions worsen, it becomes yellow, with stricter monitoring, and if it is very severe, affecting multiple states, then it’s red, with 24-hour monitoring, with reports six times a day," he said.

Previously, the information could only be found on its website and Facebook and X social media accounts. With the integration, this information will now be reflected on the eBencana JKR mobile app.image is not available
