Barcelona are challenging Real Madrid's interest in Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
The youngster has played his way into Robert Moreno's Spain squad after an impressive first 12 months in Naples.
Mundo Deportivo says Barca coach Ernesto Valverde is unconvinced by his midfield options and can see Ruiz slipping easily into his system.
Meanwhile, AS's Tomas Roncero has revealed: "At Real Madrid, they know that they have lost a great opportunity with Fabian Ruiz for 30m.
"With Ruiz and (Dani) Ceballos, they could have had the new (Andres) Iniesta and Xavi of the world football. Real is aware of having made a major mistake."
