Kota Kinabalu: Warisan vice president Terence Siambun on Wednesday said the admission by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam that the viral video involving him is genuine confirms public suspicions that the incident was real.

He said Joachim’s statement that the money was voluntarily given is in itself an admission that financial transactions occurred between a businessman and elected representatives.

Terence stressed that whether the money was offered or requested makes no difference, as its exchange constitutes corruption and abuse of power.

He questioned Joachim’s claim that the funds were merely political donations, asking whether they were recorded, declared to the party treasurer, or reported to the authorities in line with political funding laws.

He urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to act swiftly, saying Sabahans are tired of corruption being disguised as donations and deserve real accountability rather than excuses.
