
Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed man was charged in the Court here Monday with assaulting a man with a glass bottle.
However, no plea was recorded from Rames Tinggalung @ James, 50, who appeared before Court Registrar Rita Kunsoi after the charge was read to him.
Rames was alleged to have voluntarily caused hurt to one Helxmond Mansawari, 18, with the glass bottle on July 9, this year, at noon, in Kg Minintod Inanam, Penampang.
The charge under Section 324 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 10 years or with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishments, on conviction.

The accused was ordered to be remanded further pending the date.
Meanwhile, a night market vendor was also charged with attacking a man.
Mohammad Rizal Razlan, 23, was accused of voluntarily causing hurt to Mohamad Akmal Mohd Amir, 28, on July 9, at 11.15pm, outside the Borneo Sport Area BSA Futsal court, in Kolombong Inanam.
No plea was taken from Rizal.
The charge is framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both, on conviction.
Rizal was ordered to be remanded further pending mention of his case on July 24 before a Magistrate.
