Kota Kinabalu: A 28-year-old unemployed man was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with threatening to murder his mother.

Halevin Radian pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to criminally intimidating Heather Lynn Simpar, 45, by making threats to kill her on Aug 10, at 10am, in a house at Kg Kionsom, Inanam.

The charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to seven years or a fine or both, on conviction.

Prosecutor Inspector Suzie S.K. in applying for a next mention date proposed RM5,000 bail.

The court set Sept 20 for pre-trial case management (ptcm) and released the accused on RM3,000 bail in two sureties.

In another case, two unemployed men were charged with stealing a vehicle.

Albeto Saleh, 22, and Zahirin Edwin, 38, pleaded not guilty separately to committing the offences on June 3, between 5am and 7.15am, at SH Euro Auto Parts workshop, Wisma KKM, Jalan Tuaran.

Albeto was accused of stealing a BMW X3 belonging to Ang Li Jin while Zahirin allegedly stole a Land Cruiser belonging to Philip Chang Min Leong.

They were each charged under Section 379A of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of between one year and seven years or fine or both on conviction.

The court set Sept 26 for ptcm of Albeto’s case and offered him RM2,500 bail in two sureties.

Zahirin was released on RM2,000 bail in two sureties pending ptcm on Sept 23.
