Johor Bahru will get an elevated Autonomous Rapid Transit system, alongside expanded bus and KTM Komuter services, ahead of the RTS Link opening.
PETALING JAYA: The government has agreed to implement an elevated Autonomous Rapid Transit (e-ART) system as a key solution to worsening traffic congestion in Johor Bahru.
Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said immediate measures would also be introduced ahead of the opening of the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link.
“Traffic congestion in Johor Bahru must be addressed immediately,” he said when tabling Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
These include expanding local bus routes and frequencies, increasing KTM Komuter services and introducing Grab Shuttle services in high-demand areas.
