Barisan Nasional Johor announces it will contest all 56 state seats in the upcoming election, says state chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

JOHOR BAHRU: Barisan Nasional (BN) Johor has announced that the party will contest in all 56 State Legislative Assembly seats in the upcoming state election.

The matter was announced by Johor Menteri Besar who is also the state BN chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi through a post on his Facebook page today.

He said the decision was made after taking into account the views of the people of Johor as well as the voices of the grassroots leadership of UMNO and BN Johor on the party’s direction ahead of the election.

“After discussing with the party leadership, I, with a sense of full conviction and responsibility, state that Barisan Nasional Johor will contest in all 56 State Legislative Assembly seats in the upcoming State Election,” he said.

He said the stance is a clear offer to the people that the party is ready to continue to form a stable, strong government that fully serves the development of the state and the well-being of the Johor people.

In the 2022 PRN, BN won 40 seats, Pakatan Harapan (12), Perikatan Nasional (3) and MUDA one seat.

The PH convention will also be held here tomorrow, which is seen as an important stage in determining the coalition’s direction, including preparations for the possible Johor and Melaka state elections this year.
