Johor flood recovery complete as last relief centre closes

Johor’s flood situation has fully recovered with the closure of the final relief centre in Segamat, allowing all evacuees to return home.

JOHOR BAHRU: The flood situation in Johor has fully recovered following the closure of the last temporary relief centre in the Segamat district.

State Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman said the centre at the Kampung Batu Badak community hall was officially closed at 2 pm today.

All evacuees were allowed to return to their homes, he added.

The centre had been operating since December 28 and housed 25 flood evacuees from eight families as of this morning.

Previously, flooding in Johor, particularly in Segamat, had affected several areas including Jementah, Buloh Kasap, Tenang and Pemanis.
