JOHOR Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has urged the state's newly appointed Executive Council (EXCO) members to carry out their responsibilities with unwavering dedication, integrity and sincerity in serving the people and advancing Johor's development.
In his royal address following the swearing-in ceremony of the new EXCO at Istana Bukit Serene on Saturday, the Regent emphasised that every policy and decision made by the state executive must always be guided by the interests of the people and contribute to Johor's overall progress.
His Royal Highness also called on the EXCO members to remain close to the people by regularly engaging with communities to better understand their needs and concerns.
The Regent further stressed the importance of ensuring that government services are delivered efficiently, effectively and with the highest standards of integrity.
Earlier, Tunku Ismail presided over the Appointment and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Johor State Executive Council members at the Balai Mengadap, Istana Bukit Serene.
The formation of the new EXCO follows Barisan Nasional's commanding victory in the 16th Johor state election on July 11, where the coalition secured 48 of the 56 seats in the State Legislative Assembly, giving it a two-thirds majority to continue governing the state.
Last Sunday, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who is also the Machap assemblyman, was sworn in before the Johor Regent for a second consecutive term as Menteri Besar, paving the way for the formation of the new state administration. - July 18, 2026
