His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim took his oath of office as Malaysia’s 17th King today (31 Jan), marking the start of a five-year term.

The grand ceremony was held during the 264th special meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Balairung Seri, Istana Negara.

Sultan Ibrahim assumes the role from his predecessor, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, whose term as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong concluded yesterday.

Accompanying the momentous occasion, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, also pledged his oath as the Deputy King.

The nation anticipates a reign filled with progress and unity under Sultan Ibrahim’s leadership.
