The FF series number plate has made its wave on social media not too long ago and plenty of Malaysians were willing to pay a hefty price to own the car plate. For those who weren’t looped in, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has launched a car plate series “FF” in conjunction with its 77th anniversary.
Johor Sultan becomes highest bidder for FF1 number plate
Transport minister Anthony Loke then announced that the bidding for the registration plate will be available on the JPJ e-bid portal for only 5 days (commenced on May 14). Subsequently, many Malaysians have started bidding for it and just yesterday, Loke has announced in a post that the highest bidder for the FF1 registration plate belongs to Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim.
In Loke’s post he revealed,
“I went before His Majesty the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim and presented the FF1 registration plate to His Majesty.”

He expressed his gratitude towards His Majesty, mentioning that His Majesty had agreed to pay a whopping RM1.2 million for the special registration plate. Following that, Loke also shared that according to their record, RM1.2 million is the highest value they’ve ever received from bidding for a number plate.
With that said, Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim becomes the highest bidder for the “FF” number plate series, resulting in increasing the total amount of revenue collection to a whopping RM35.4 million. Back in 2016, Sultan Ibrahim has bid RM836,660 for the car plate registered as “F1” and in the same year bid another RM989,780 for “V1”
