He has been officially expelled

The school board of Foon Yew High School in Johor has confirmed that the 16-year-old involved has been expelled, as reported by China Press.

In their six-point statement, the school board admitted their initial response wasn’t quick enough, which sparked a lot of public criticism.

They also clarified that the expulsion came after a full internal review and shut down claims that the student only got a light warning.

“The board is responsible for ensuring students’ safety and mental well-being, upholding teachers’ dignity, and promoting a culture of respect for educators,” they explained.
