Jorge Schmadtke is set to leave Liverpool early next year.
The former VfL Wolfsburg sports chief joined the Reds at the beginning of the summer market and oversaw the arrivals of former Bundesliga pair Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo.
Sky Deutschland says Schmadtke will continue during the January transfer window.
However, he will likely leave Anfield in February once the winter market closes.
The German will return home to be with his family before considering his next move.
