KUALA LUMPUR: Glocomp Systems (M) Sdn Bhd is stepping up its role in Malaysia’s enterprise technology landscape under the leadership of managing director Joseph Giam, following a new partnership with NetApp Malaysia aimed at delivering secure, AI-ready data infrastructure to local organisations.

The memorandum of understanding with NetApp marks a strategic move by Glocomp to strengthen its portfolio in intelligent data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and sovereign delivery, the company said in a statement.

Under the collaboration, Glocomp will deliver NetApp’s latest enterprise-grade data infrastructure offerings, including NetApp AFX, a disaggregated all-flash storage platform designed for high-performance AI workloads, and the AI Data Engine (AIDE), a data services platform that simplifies and secures AI adoption across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Giam said the partnership positions Glocomp to offer a more integrated, locally delivered proposition to customers, particularly those operating in regulated and mission-critical environments.

“This collaboration allows us to bring together intelligent data infrastructure powered by NetApp with our locally delivered, vetted services.

“It strengthens our ability to support organisations as they modernise their digital environments while retaining control over security, compliance and data sovereignty,” he said.

He added that the partnership aligns with Malaysia’s broader ambition to become an AI-driven economy and addresses practical concerns for enterprises and government agencies as AI workloads become more data-intensive and distributed.

Meanwhile, NetApp Asean senior director Angeline Lim said the collaboration reflects the importance of working closely with strong local partners to support responsible AI adoption.

“Glocomp brings deep expertise in secure infrastructure and cybersecurity. Together, we are helping Malaysian organisations build intelligent data foundations that can scale AI innovation while maintaining strong governance and protection of critical data,” she said.

Beyond infrastructure performance, the partnership places strong emphasis on cyber resilience.

By combining NetApp’s secure data management capabilities with Glocomp’s cybersecurity expertise, the joint offering is designed to help organisations strengthen their ability to protect, recover and manage data across increasingly complex environments.

Key focus areas include data sovereignty, compliance and cyber resilience.

“The solutions are designed to ensure sensitive data remains within Malaysian borders and under Malaysian jurisdiction, while supporting audit readiness and regulatory reporting requirements,” said Giam.
