KOTA KINABALU: JPJ Sabah ran a targeted operation in Papar (Jan 20–23) after public complaints about dangerous heavy lorries.

Out of 627 vehicles inspected, 59 were acted against, 88 summonses issued, two vehicles seized, RM12,150 in compounds collected, and one overloading case sent to court.

Offences included overloading, unsafe cargo, expired road tax, insurance and licences.

JPJ says enforcement will continue with zero compromise on road safety.
