The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has warned Malaysians against fake advertisements misusing a photo of caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob that claims to be giving free driving licences to all groups. The fake advertisement has been rampant on social media and is believed to be run by a scam syndicate.

As reported by national news agency Bernama, JPJ rebutted the fake advertisement and advised the public to not fall victim to such a scam. Instead, Malaysians are advised to contact the nearest JPJ office to obtain accurate and authentic information.

JPJ made the statement rebutting the fake advertisement through the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia’s Quick Response Team yesterday (28 October 2022). Moreover, the statement said that the scam misused the photo of the Prime Minister in order to lure public attention and deceive Malaysians.
