THE Road Transport Department (JPJ) has dismissed claims circulating on social media that driving licences can be obtained without undergoing the required tests, warning the public that such promotions are fraudulent.

The department’s Deputy Director-General for Planning and Operations, Datuk Jazmanie Shafawi, said there is no provision for issuing licences without applicants completing the stipulated procedures.

“This matter is indeed within our knowledge and I stress here that there is no such thing as a licence without a test. Everyone must follow the procedures that have been set.

“What is being promoted on social media is a scam and we are constantly cooperating with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

“We hope no one is deceived by such promotions and I continuously remind the public about this,” he said.

He noted that the misleading offers have been actively promoted on platforms such as TikTok by certain parties seeking to exploit members of the public.

Jazmanie was speaking at a press conference after the Special Operation in Conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations (Ops TBC 2026) at the Lembah Sireh Bus Terminal here on Monday night.

He added that, to date, no individuals have come forward to report that they had fallen victim to the scam, but the department remains vigilant and continues to monitor the situation closely. - February 17, 2026
