Judge to hear Daim's wife's passport release bid next month

PUTRAJAYA: The High Court here will hear submissions regarding Naimah Khalid’s application for a permanent release of her passport next month.

Judge Ahmad Bache set March 4 for submissions, followed by replies on March 11, and oral submissions on March 13.

Last month, Naimah, who is former finance minister Daim Zainuddin’s wife, pleaded not guilty to failing to comply with a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) notice requiring the declaration of her assets.

She is accused of failing to declare her ownership of companies, several plots of land here and in Penang, and two vehicles. The offence allegedly took place on Dec 13, 2023.

Deputy public prosecutors Ahmad Feisal Azmi and Fadhly Zamry appeared for the prosecution, while lawyer M Puravalen represented Naimah.
