KOTA KINABALU: Tanjung Aru assemblyman Datuk Junz Wong has called on DBKK to honour its assurance that occupied and structurally safe houses in Sembulan Tengah will not be demolished under redevelopment plans.

He said only unsafe houses or those linked to problematic activities were meant to be affected, but concerns arose after 26 houses were still listed as occupied, including homes where family members remain despite owners not living there full-time.

Junz said his office will seek clarification from DBKK and stressed that residents are not against redevelopment, but want clear communication, fair compensation, and reasonable timelines, especially with major festivals approaching.
