After having exposed her Physical Education teacher for casually making rape jokes during class, 19-year-old student and activist, Ain Husniza has been thrown into the spotlight and faced plenty of abuse.

In a similar instance, a netizen recently took to the comments section of her post to sexually harass her. On Thursday (January 5), Ain had posted 2 pictures of herself wearing a white t-shirt with some design on it.

Despite the seemingly innocent post, the netizen took to the comments section to say, “Hilarious, trying to fight against sexual harassment but you post pictures like this. What are you trying to show? (That) your big breasts (are) like a honeydew?

“When people comment on it, then you’d bring up mental damage, being traumatised and labelling people in certain ways. When someone shares these pictures in those kind of social media groups, then you’d get them reported,” they added.

Following the netizen’s comment, Ain took it upon herself to address the comments made by the user. In various posts, Ain wrote, “I post a selfie and people treat me as if I’ve committed manslaughter. THE picture isn’t even special. I just be image is not available and making ugly faces…..”

“Why must I look a certain way to deserve safety and respect? Clothes wise, race wise, weight wise. We all deserve to be safe regardless.”

“How a person dresses is not an invitation for sexual harassment.”

The comment by the netizen has since gone viral as other netizens took to it to express their support for Ain and condemn the user.

“Why is it when you look at this picture, the thing you focus is on her breasts? If you looked at the face first you’d see that the pose of the picture is her trying to be cute. Clean up your brain and heart then only comment.”

A user wrote, “You’re the one that looked towards her breasts. If you want to advise her, this is not the way. You can just DM her privately and tell her politely.”

“Rubbish way of thinking. How a person dresses is not an invitation for sexual harassment,” said another user.

Women should never be sexually harassed for what they wear.
