It began like any other normal and ordinary renovation job, a worker was hired to fix and build and the boss promising fair pay once everything was done. But months later, what started as a simple job turned into a frustrating chase for payment that never came. This went viral on Facebook and drew numerous comments from workers reacting to the boss’s actions.
The worker had completed the renovation work before 21st May 2025, yet his payment was nowhere in sight. Every message he sent to his employer was either left on seen or met with the same excuse:
“Once I move in, I’ll settle every single payment.”
At first, he waited patiently, believing the boss would keep his word. But as weeks turned into months, the story never changed. The boss repeatedly claimed he needed to “check everything” before paying. According to the worker who posted through Facebook, he had already inspected the work several times and confirmed there were no problems.
Thus, this caused frustration to grew. In the screenshots shared online via Facebook, the worker could be seen trying once again to reach out in October which is actually five months later. His messages went unanswered, his calls unreturned. “Boss? You’re not answering calls or texts. What’s going on?” he wrote.
When the boss finally replied, the tone was dismissive and cold:
“I’ve said it many times. Once I move in and confirm everything’s fine, I’ll clear the balance. But if you keep pushing, then forget it, I won’t pay.”
The worker, who had been polite and patient for months, finally broke his silence:
“What do you mean ‘after you move in’? The job was done months ago! Are you saying I’ll only get paid when you feel like it? I’ve been polite, but are you trying to push me until I give up?”
The exchange quickly spread across social media, striking a chord with thousands. It highlighted a common and heartbreaking reality where workers being denied fair wages, hidden behind empty excuses and false promises. Behind every “just wait a little longer” message is someone who has already waited too long and behind every ignored text is a person whose only mistake was trusting that hard work would be respected.
