The investigation into the tragic murder of six-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin is ongoing, with the police having gathered statements from over 200 individuals. Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, the director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, emphasized their commitment to exploring every lead derived from the collected information.

Addressing the media after a town hall session, Mohd Shuhaily stated, "We have interviewed over 200 people, and from the outset, we've extensively examined both apartment blocks in the densely populated area." Despite the lack of immediate breakthroughs, he assured the public that the investigation is active, with the team continually assessing the evidence at hand. "We never stop investigating," he emphasized.

The police director highlighted the team's engagement with the local community, emphasizing the importance of gathering any potentially overlooked information, regardless of its perceived significance. The murder, which occurred on December 5 in Damansara Damai, saw the child initially reported missing before being discovered deceased near a river, approximately 200 meters from his residence at Idaman Apartment the following day.

Autopsy results revealed defensive wounds on the boy's body, indicating signs of self-defense, with the cause of death identified as injuries to the neck, likely resulting from strangulation.

During the town hall session, Mohd Shuhaily stressed the need for investigating officers to value the time of complainants and witnesses. He urged them not to waste their time, recognizing the importance of respecting the individuals who come forward to provide statements. This is particularly crucial for those with daily wage jobs, as any unnecessary delay may result in income loss.

In summary, the investigation into Zayn Rayyan's murder remains active, with the police diligently pursuing leads and engaging with the community to ensure a thorough examination of the case. The call for efficient and respectful handling of witness statements reflects the commitment to justice while considering the impact on those involved.
