Juventus coach Max Allegri has explained Paul Pogba undergoing knee surgery on Monday.
The former Manchester United midfielder had trained on the pitch yesterday and today, but it was announced he had undergone an operation on his knee injury.
“It's hard to see him back before January," Allegri admitted during his pre-match press conference.
“I like to be realistic and now we must think about the Champions League and then Salernitana. I don't know if he'll play in the World Cup, but it's not my problem, I know he'll be back in January for Juventus."
Does he feel Juventus wasted a month with the conservative therapy?
“Looking backwards is useless, said Allegri. “When you take a decision, it's because it's right at that moment, and then you see how it goes. Now we must focus on the match."
Juve later announced: "This evening, Paul Pogba underwent a selective external arthroscopic meniscectomy. The surgery, performed by Prof. Roberto Rossi in the presence of the Juventus Team Doctor, Luca Stefanini was a complete success."
