Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has announced he will appeal against his doping ban.

It has been ruled today that Pogba has been banned for four years from all football after failing a doping test earlier this season.

In response, former Manchester United midfielder Pogba declared today: "Today I was informed of the decision of the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and I believe that the sentence is wrong.

"I am sad, shocked and heartbroken. Everything I have built in my career as a professional player has been removed. When I am free from legal restrictions the whole story will be clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken supplements that violate anti-doping regulations."

He added: "As a professional athlete I would never do anything to improve my performance by using banned substances and I have never disrespected or cheated other athletes and fans of any of the teams I played for or against.

"As a result of the decision announced today I will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport."
