Manchester United's sell-on clause is holding up Arsenal's move for Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha.

The London Evening Standard says Arsenal initially bid around 40million for Zaha, while it has been suggested that the Gunners would be willing to offer players to sweeten any deal. But Palace are holding out for 80m.

United included a sell-on clause when they sold Zaha back to Palace in 2015 as part of a deal worth around 6m.

It entitles them to 20 per cent of the profit made on the Ivorian's sale which, if he were to go for 80m, would be around 15m.

Palace tried to remove the clause as part of the negotiations surrounding Wan-Bissaka's move to Old Trafford, but they were unable to.

As a result the Eagles have strengthened their resolve around not dropping Zaha's asking price given the cash windfall Manchester United are due from any deal.
