
KUALA PENYU: Kaamatan serves as a platform to honour Sabah's cultural heritage, foster unity among diverse communities, and promote tourism, said Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam.
Speaking at the Kuala Penyu and Menumbok district-level celebration, he emphasized that the Harvest Festival unites people across different backgrounds and should be used to strengthen community bonds while preserving tradition.
Dr. Joachim, also KDCA Deputy President, said the festival’s cultural uniqueness attracts local and international tourists, benefiting the economy.

He commended local leaders and the Kaamatan committee for their efforts and presented educational aid to five students on behalf of 34 recipients from the Limus Jury Education Foundation.
