KENINGAU: Deputy Chief Minister 1, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, said Sabah is an example of unity and harmony that has its own uniqueness.
He said this could be seen through the celebration of Kaamatan Festival which also serves as a vehicle to strengthen brotherhood, understanding and tolerance between communities across the multi-racial and multi-religious society in the State.
“The festival is not just about having fun, eating or drinking. It is also an opportunity to strengthen unity among the people.
“The people celebrate this festival out of love for one another. The issue of unity is important and, therefore, we celebrate the Kaamatan festival together regardless of differences,” he said while officiating the Majlis Ramah Mesra Kaamatan for Mukim Apin-Apin, Merampong and Bunga Raya levels at Baloi Pisisimpungan OT Adau Ansuab Apin-Apin here.
