
Kota Kinabalu: The organising committee of the upcoming Kaamatan Kids Beauty Pageant, themed “Little Precious 2025” and hosted by Nirvana Sanctuary Bhd, paid a courtesy visit to Kapayan Assemblywoman Jannie Lasimbang to brief her on the event’s preparations and extend an invitation to officiate the programme.
Present during the visit were organising chairperson Mimi, marketing manager Leon Pui, and marketing assistant Georgia.
The committee shared the objectives of the pageant, highlighting its aim to promote Kadazandusun cultural heritage among the younger generation while encouraging self-confidence and community spirit among children and families.
Jannie, who represented by her officer Richard Chong, expressed her support for the initiative and commended the organisers for their creative approach to youth engagement and cultural preservation.
In a positive development, Jannie has officially confirmed her attendance as the guest of honour at the event, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 4 May 2025, at the Central Atrium, ITCC Shopping Mall, with registration beginning at 10am.
“This event is more than just a pageant,” said organising chairperson Mimi. “It’s a celebration of identity, confidence, and culture. We hope to provide children with a meaningful platform to connect with their roots and shine with pride.”
The pageant will feature two categories based on age: Category A for children up to 8 years old, and Category B for those aged 9 to 12. Contestants will compete for various prizes, including cash awards, crowns, sashes, and bouquets.
Every participant will also receive a certificate and a goodie bag. The organisers noted that registration is limited to 50 contestants, and the deadline to register is 28 April 2025.
Additionally, special titles such as Miss Beauty, Best Dress, and Miss Popular will be awarded, with the latter determined through Facebook voting from 29 April to 3 May 2025.
