PENAMPANG: The Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) hailed the move to only serve traditional beverages within cultural houses at Hongkod Koisaan         (KDCA).

He said the move is a strategic fusion of heritage and trade, noting that prioritising authentic products like lihing, tapai and bahar will strengthen local supply chains and provide a sustainable platform for small-scale producers beyond the festive season.

“By championing our traditional beverages, we are building an environment where heritage and local trade support one another,” said KCCI trade and investment chairman Carl V. Moosom.

He said the policy creates a cohesive ecosystem that benefits small and medium enterprises (SMEs) participating in the month-long bazaar.

KCCI President Datuk Ladislaus Maluda said while the move honors the spiritual essence of the Harvest Festival, it also ensures that cultural authenticity remains a vital driver of identity and economic resilience in an increasingly globalised market.
