Kafa: RM9.7mil allocation to repair buildings in Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: The Federal Government through the Department of lslamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) channelled RM9.7 million to upgrade and maintain dilapidated buildings of Al-Quran and Fadhu Ain (Kafa) classes in Sabah last year, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He hoped a larger allocation for the same purpose would be given this year.

“We hope the classrooms that have been repaired can be used in the best way so that the Kafa learning process becomes more effective and comfortable.

“To appreciate the efforts and dedication of Kafa teachers in supporting the Government’s aspiration to empower human capital in Sabah, the Islamic Religious Council of Sabah (Muis) has approved an additional allowance of RM100 for each Kafa teacher in Sabah, effective June 1.

The text of his speech was delivered by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Ruslan Muharam.

Hajiji said the State Government is committed to providing full cooperation to the Federal Government in the development of Muslims to form a civilised society that prioritises good ties and humane values which are the demands of ad-Din (Islamic faith).
