Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Aparajita conducted a surprise inspection of the Rajound Tehsil, the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) Office and the Municipal Committee Office on Wednesday.

During the visit, she reviewed attendance registers, branch records and the functioning of various public service delivery mechanisms; and directed officials to maintain transparency and accountability in public services related works.

The DC found the Naib Tehsildar absent from duty. Taking serious note of the matter, she issued a show-cause notice to the absentee and made it clear that negligence in official responsibilities would not be tolerated.

The DC also interacted with the people present at the Tehsil Office and listened to their grievances. She instructed officials to maintain polite behaviour with visitors and ensure that public grievances are resolved within the stipulated time frame.

At the BDPO Office, she also reviewed the implementation of various development schemes and the functioning of grievance redressal mechanisms. The DCP also sought a detailed report from the BDPO regarding complaints received through the Jan Samvad, Samadhan Shivirs, the CM Window and other platforms.

The DC directed officials to accord top priority to resolving public grievances and ensuring prompt action on complaints.

During the inspection at the MC Office, the DC reviewed sanitation works, ongoing development works, and the progress of various welfare schemes. The Municipal Secretary was instructed to strengthen cleanliness and sanitation measures across the town. He was also directed to review all development projects approved during 2023–24, expedite the completion of pending works, and submit the Utilisation Certificates (UCs) related to previously sanctioned funds.

“Providing simple, transparent and time-bound services to citizens remains the administration’s top priority,” she said and warned that any negligence, delay, or lack of accountability in public service delivery would be dealt with seriously.
