Former Manchester City midfielder Andrei Kanchelskis says it's wrong to compare the best of Russian football and English football.
Kanchelskis says there's no comparing Zenit St Petersburg and Manchester City.
He told Metaratings: “How can you compare Zenit and Manchester City? What kind of experts compare those two and understand football? To compare such clubs, you must first visit England, work there and cook in their football.
"Yes, at the moment Zenit is the top club in Russia, but comparing our league with the Premier League is ridiculous. There, Liverpool are fighting, and Arsenal are fighting.
"Times are changing, we used to have Spartak dominated, now Zenit, in five or six years there will be another team. It's okay. In the Premier League, Arsenal also dominated, Liverpool, then Manchester United, now Manchester City. Russian football should not be compared with English. No team is the same. Comparing Zenit with City is a utopia."
