Karamunting rep urges youths to take part in sports

SANDAKAN: Karamunting Assemblyman Datuk George Hiew Vun Zin in an effort to encourage more youths to engage in sports in their free time, has repaired the football field in Kg Air here, for the use of residents.

He also donated sports shirts to Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) Flat Youth Club members to encourage and support sports activities among the youth in Karamunting.

George added that not only sports activities could keep the body healthy, but also prevent them from getting into social problems such as drug abuse and so on.

“Sporting activities can also motivate our young people to be more competitive and work hard to achieve their goals.

The competition was organised by the Kg Karamunting youth group, to welcome the New Year 2024, where residents also organised a mass dinner event.

“I hope that Karamunting will be able to produce healthy, disciplined and visionary youths and will contribute to the development of Karamunting and Sabah as a whole in the future,” he added.
