Karim Benzema admits leaving Real Madrid "hurts me".
Real Madrid held a farewell ceremony for Benzema today at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The striker said: "It is difficult to speak with so many emotions. I was lucky to realize my dream as a child thanks to the president, who at the age of 21 went to my house with my parents. When I saw you I said 'he is the man who has brought Zidane and Ronaldo and now he wants me in his team'.
"I will never forget Real Madrid because it is the biggest club in history, but today is the time to go. The most important thing is what I have won. As I have said from the first day, one, two, three, hala Madrid!
Thanks to Ancelotti, who has always given me a lot of confidence. You are top and I have learned a lot with you. I don't have many more words. It's a sad day, I'm leaving this club and it hurts me. I had a dream, to sign for Madrid and finish in Madrid, but other opportunities arise in life. It is time to know another story. I will always watch the games. Thanks to the fans who push us. Thank you all, really,
