Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused the Congress government in Karnataka of spending more time managing internal rivalries than governing the state, saying the people had been left waiting while the ruling party remained preoccupied with leadership issues and power-sharing.
Addressing BJP workers at a public event in Bengaluru, Modi took aim at the ongoing tussle between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, saying the Congress leadership had failed to bring clarity even on who would continue in office and for how long.
“For the last three years, instead of focusing on people’s issues, the government here has been busy dealing with its own internal matters,” Modi said, referring to the continuing uncertainty over the Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka.
