A father's love for his son is an enduring, unconditional, and protective bond that acts as an anchor throughout life. Based on my experience as a father, it is characterized by unwavering support, sacrifice, and a commitment to guiding the son to be happy and successful. This profound love is often shown by the father through actions rather than words, providing strength, resilience, and a safe, nurturing foundation. He acts as a pillar of strength during crisis. I concur father's love is often described as an “endless ocean”, a “mighty fortress” & a "guiding light" that provides a safe space for growth & development.
My wife, Zarina, and I, are indeed grateful to our long-time friends, Professor Haji Khaeruddin bin Sudharmin (K) & his best half, Hajah Norhayati binti Alias, for kindly inviting us to attend the wedding reception dinner of their son, Nazrul Rouslan bin Khaeruddin to Nor Adani binti Nor Anuar, at Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA), Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. It was graced by Tan Sri Dato' Haji Abdul Ghani Othman, the former Minister of Youth & Sports Malaysia & 14th Menteri Besar of Johor, and his wife, Professor Puan Sri Datin Paduka Dr. Jamilah Arifin, a passionate social activist and scholar.
I've known the host, Professor K, a renowned expert in logistic and academician for the past four decades. In fact, we were actively involved in setting-up the Malaysian Society of Training and Development (MSTD), in collaboration with Ministry of Human Resources & Federation of Asia Pacific HRD Group.
Our close friendship has enabled me to observe the core principles of how Prof K acts as a pillar of strength during difficult times, fostering courage and confidence in his son, Nazrul. He serves as a shield against the world, offering security, strength & life lessons. A responsible and loving father like Prof K always makes quiet, sacrifices, working hard and enduring struggles to ensure his son's success and happiness. I'm proud that he treated me like a cousin.
