
Kota Kinabalu: A Kota Belud tourism village was recently featured on Planetarium Negara’s Instagram as one of the best meteor shower viewing spots.
The Perseid meteor shower was believed to have peaked at 9pm tonight, Aug. 12.
Instagram user @withregram wrote about @darkskymalaysia's meteor shower outing activity in Kota Belud.

The activity in Tegudon Tourism Village included a briefing on the phenomenon and ways to capture the night sky using a smartphone.
The organiser also reminded participants to bring an extra mat, mosquito repellent, hot drinks and family and friends along for the astronomical event.
Three other spots across Malaysia were mentioned by @withregram: A campsite in Lenggong, Perak; a campsite-villa in Bentong, Pahang; and a basketball court in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur; organised by an astronomical society.
