Kota Kinabalu: The Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) should be considered for a seat in the Dewan Negara to fight for the rights of the natives in Sabah.
Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Supreme Council Member, Datuk John Ambrose, said KDCA being a non-political association representing 40 indigenous ethnic communities in Sabah deserves to be represented in the Dewan Negara.
Ambrose said KDCA has a long history since its humble beginning in 1953 when it started as the Society of Kadazan Penampang in 1953. The Society paved the way for the formation of the Kadazan Cultural Association Sabah (KCA) in 1963, which in turn was transformed into the present KDCA on Sept 25, 1991.
