A disabled man (OKU) in Alor Setar, Kedah is currently being remanded for seven days starting today (March 3) after PDRM arrested him for allegedly killing and setting her 68-year-old mother on fire.
His 14-year-old daughter was in the house during the tragic incident.
A 48-year-old villager told the media that the fight between the suspect and mum started when the woman told his son to take his medications, to which he refused. The son was watching TV at the time, and in an attempt to get him to obey her instructions, the mum switched off the TV.

The suspect is said to have beaten his mum with a hard object and set her body on fire.
“He also put out the fire himself, which explains why the fire department was not alerted about the matter,” the villager added, and said that the suspect’s daughter told him about the incident.

The villager also told the media that most people around the village are well aware of the suspect’s mental condition, but before the tragic incident, the suspect had NEVER caused havoc or gone on a rampage.
“He had never harrassed or harmed anyone in the village.”
“At most, he would run around the kampung naked. I think if he had taken his medicine, this incident wouldn’t have happened.”
He said the suspect worked as a security guard and would usually take his mother out every Sunday on his motorcycle. The deceased, fondly known as Tok Cha by the villagers, had 4 children, but she only lived with the suspect.
The suspect, on the other hand, divorced about three years ago and shared three children with his ex-wife, but only the 14-year-old daughter (witness) was living with him.
The team from China Press visited the village today and visited the suspect’s house to interview the family, who refused to speak to the media.
