Sir Keir Starmer has said the UK played no role in reported military strikes on Venezuela, as tensions escalate following claims of US action against targets in Caracas.

Speaking on Saturday (January 3), the prime minister stressed that Britain was “not involved” in any strikes and had not provided military support.

His comments come amid growing international concern over the situation, with explosions reported in the Venezuelan capital and airspace restrictions imposed across the country.
