In a recent TikTok video that’s gone viral, user @bidadari.rara shares her visit to a mamak in Selangor, giving us a sneak peek into the ‘unusual’ experience.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, @bidadari.rara mentioned that she travelled from Kelantan to Selangor. She described how she spontaneously decided to have breakfast at a random mamak she came across during her journey.
She noticed that ordering food at a mamak in Selangor works differently compared to Kelantan. Thinking it was the same, she was surprised when her order arrived.
How hard is it to get a roti telur around here?
She shared how she had requested for roti telur, but when her food arrived, she couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
“It’s funny how ordering food in Selangor is different from Kelantan. I just wanted roti telur, but when it arrived, I couldn’t help but laugh.”
In the video, the staff can be seen delivering her order, which turns out to be just an egg and bread with two sides of gravy. It seems like the staff took her request for roti telur quite literally.
@bidadari.rara mentioned that she didn’t want to make a huge fuss about it, so she asked the staff to simply fry the egg instead of letting it go to waste.
The amusing encounter prompted netizens online to flood the comment section, sharing their laughter in response to the situation.
“If you ask for mamak fried rice, do you think they’ll serve you fried rice with a mamak on the side?”
“Are they for real? You don’t see someone ordering roti telur and literally getting egg and bread every day.”
“They technically got the order right, but at the same time, not really.”
