
KENINGAU: A family of five in Kampung Belilingi Bayangan here was moved to safety following the flash flood that occurred in the village early Friday.
The five victims were evacuated to the Keningau District Council.
The Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 8.40am and a total of 14 members, led by Operations Officer Norhasrita Abdul Manan, went to the location with machinery.
The firemen continued monitoring the area and the operation ended at 10.22am.

Read more In other developments, several areas in Bingkor town also experienced flash floods with water rising up to two feet due to prolonged heavy rain.
According to some residents, areas that have never been flooded were also flooded.
Among areas flooded were parts of Bingkor town, mosque buildings, roads and some public areas and villages.
They asked the relevant departments including local leaders to investigate the cause of the floods.
