KENINGAU: Police arrested a backhoe driver who overturned a Road Transport Department (RTD) vehicle with his machine in anger after he was issued with a traffic summons for not having a driving licence near Kg Ambual, here, Thursday.
Keningau Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Nor Rafidah Kasim said the incident occurred at Kepayan Magatang road.
“The Criminal Investigation Division of the District Police Headquarters received a police report at 6.32pm regarding the incident of an individual who had obstructed and used criminal force to intimidate civil servants in carrying out their functions and duties," said Nor Rafidah.
A motorcyclist, believed to be a villager, managed to get into the backhoe and made the driver stop.
Police impounded the backhoe while the RTD officer was unscathed, but the patrol car was severely damaged.
