KENINGAU: Parti Star and Sabah PKR believe there is a strong case for creating a new parliamentary constituency in the Keningau area, in accordance with the provisions of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

Datuk Robert Tawik, Star’s Deputy President, pointed out that the current Keningau parliamentary constituency has 87,588 voters across the Liawan (30,433 voters), Tambunan (27,768 voters) and Bingkor (29,387 voters) areas.

He said this large area, which is comparable in size to the states of Melaka, Kedah and Perlis combined, warrants the creation of a new constituency.

Specifically, Robert suggested that a new Tambunan parliamentary constituency be created, with two state constituencies – Apin-Apin and Tambunan.
