Kuala Lumpur: Keningau’s Taman Bandukan Riverside Resort Sdn Bhd (TBRR), which celebrate its 22nd anniversary in October next year received the Bumiputera Business Excellence Awards in the SME Tourism and Boutique Resort categories.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick presented the award to TBRR Manager, Rafie Robert at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Nov 30.
Chairman of the Bumiputera Business Excellence Awards 2023, Mahathir Mahzan hopes that there will be more new and old faces who will come forward and participate in receiving this prestigious recognition in future.
“Indeed, this award will be a spirit burner to ensure more extraordinary success by bumiputera entrepreneurs and companies.
“Besides more than 70 other award recipients in various enterprise categories throughout Malaysia, Rafie is the only award recipient in that category,” he said.
Mahathir hopes that this award will open the door for tourism products around Keningau to be explored and become a tourist destination for visitors who come to Sabah, whether domestic or foreign.
In an interview on the Apa Khabar Malaysia show at Wisma Bernama on Nov 29, Rafie said TBRR is still in the development phase and hopes that TBRR will reach the status of an international tourist destination and become the main attraction for foreign tourists.
