
KUALA LUMPUR – The Human Resources Ministry (Kesuma) has called on employers and private sector workers across the country to take part in a review survey for the Minimum Wage Order (PGM) 2024, running from May 6 to June 19.
According to a statement, the survey is being conducted by the National Wages Consultative Council (NWCC) as part of the broader review of the PGM 2024, scheduled from January to September 2026, Bernama reported.
"The review aims to ensure the national minimum wage rate remains relevant to the current economic situation, cost of living, workers’ productivity and developments in the country’s labour market," the ministry said.
Findings from the survey will contribute to the evaluation process and provide recommendations to the government on future national minimum wage policies.
“This will also help ensure that the balance between workers’ welfare, business sustainability and the resilience of the national economy continues to be strengthened comprehensively,” the statement added.
Engagement sessions were held at 21 locations nationwide from March 30 to April 29 to collect feedback from employers, workers, employer associations and trade unions on the implementation of PGM 2024. These sessions aimed to improve stakeholders’ understanding of the minimum wage policy and promote a fairer, more effective, and sustainable wage system aligned with current national needs.
"All information and data collected through the survey are confidential and will only be used for policy research purposes and improvements to the implementation of the national minimum wage policy," the statement said.
The ministry also invited memoranda or written submissions from employers, employer associations, workers and trade unions, which can be sent via email to kajianpgm@mohr.gov.my
Kesuma emphasised that this initiative is crucial to ensuring that the perspectives of all stakeholders are considered in shaping a more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable minimum wage policy for the country’s workforce. - May 11, 2026
